Who is Virginia Giuffre and Why she files lawsuit against Prince Andrew?

A _US woman “who claims she was taken to the UK aged 17” to have sex with the “Duke of York” has filed a civil case in New York claiming he abused her.

“_Virginia Giuffre_”, who was an accuser of convicted sex crook Jeffrey Epstein, claims she was sexually attacked by Prince Andrew in London and New York.

“A spokeswoman” of Prince Andrew, 61, said there was "no comment" on the
case, which was filed under “New York's Child Victims Act””.

He has consistently denied the claims.

The case claims the prince sexually abused “MS Giuffre” - then known as “Virginia Roberts” at the “London home” of Epstein associate “_Ghislaine Maxwell_”, and at “_Epstein’s” homes in “_Manhattan” and “Little St_James” in the “_US Virgin Islands”.

It claims the “prince” engaged in “sexual acts” without her agreement, knowing how old she was and “that she was a sex-trafficking victim”.

The case also says the "extreme and outrageous conduct" continues to cause “”_MS_ Giuffre””, now 38, "significant emotional and psychological distress and harm".

In this realm no person, whether “president or prince”, is above the law, and no person, no matter how powerless or susceptible, can be deprived of the “law's protection," the documents read.

"Twenty years ago, “_Prince Andrew's wealth”, power, position, and connections enabled him to abuse a afraid, unprotected child with no one there to protect her. “It is extensive past the time for him to be detained to account”.

Talking about “_Ms Giuffre's” assertions in “2019”, “Prince Andrew” said they never happened.

It didn't happen. “I can firmly tell you it never happened”. “I have no memory of ever meeting this lady, none whatsoever, he communicated “BBC” Newsnight.

In a later report, “Prince Andrew” said:

“I continue to unequivocally regret my ill-judged association with Jeffrey Epstein”.

“His suicide has left many unrequited questions”, mainly for his victims, and “I extremely sympathies with everyone who has been affected and wants some form of closure”.

"I can only hope that, in time, they will be able to rebuild their lives. “Of course,” “I am ready to help any apt law implementation agency with their inquiries, if required.”

The stories presented by Ms. Geoffrey and Prince Andrew are hundreds of miles away.

Prince Andrew says he has no recollection of meeting Jeffrey, who never had sex with him.

However, there is a picture that clearly shows him with his arm around Ms. Geoffrey, that Ian, the brother of Ghuslin Maxwell, has confirmed that he is like a London house at the moment.

Some of Prince Andrew's "friends" have anonymously suggested that the photo is fake. There is no evidence that this is the case.

A person close to the prince recently told the BBC that he had a simple explanation - that he had met thousands of people and that when he met Ms Jeffrey, he could not remember her.

Prince Andrew has said he will assist law enforcement in questioning Jeffrey Appstein. His team strongly denied the allegations in a statement issued Friday stating "Similar, baseless allegations concerning US intelligence have been made more than once.

But they will see today's lawsuit as a legal fishing campaign and will do everything possible to prevent it from escalating.

What is the Child Victims Act?

The New York State Child Victims Act was signed by Governor Andrew Cuomo in 2019.

It allowed survivors of childhood sexual abuse to file a lawsuit that was already timed or expired, and they were given one year to do so.

The one-year window was extended due to disruption of judicial services during the epidemic and will end this week on August 14.

Mr Cuomo called it a "path to justice" for those who allege he was abused at a young age and aimed to "help the wrongdoers" without any knowledge or punishment. Were gone ".

Meanwhile, an independent inquiry this month found that Mr Komo had harassed several women. Mr Komo refused to touch anyone and vowed to stay in office.

Ms. Jeffrey's lawsuit is a civil lawsuit filed by a private party for financial damages, as opposed to a criminal lawsuit filed by the state.

Eric Fodali, a partner at Bloom, a New York-based law firm that represents nine of Epstein's victims, told BBC Radio 4's Today program that "very few" of such cases have been heard. Ended but had a "small chance".

Alternatively, it is pre-arranged, struck down by the judge, or the plaintiff closes the proceedings.

Melissa Murray, a law professor at New York University, said Prince Andrew could "work for significant losses of money".

"It's not about whether Prince Andrew will go to jail or not - he has nothing to do with this particular case," he told the BBC.

Asked how likely it was that the case would go to trial, he said Prince Andrew's team would probably be more worried that it would come at a "really unfortunate time", as Ms Maxwell was due to stand trial in November. ۔

He pleaded not guilty to federal charges that he conspired with Epstein to rape four underage girls.

Professor Murray said: "This civil suit is pending and she is going to be tried on these criminal charges. There could be even more pressure - and indeed sedition - for her to cooperate with the federal prosecutors and Probably a factor as to why they're doing so poorly. "It simply came to our notice then.
