Abdul Sattar Edhi's wife Bilquis Edhi passed away
Bilquis Edhi, wife of renowned social leader Abdul Sattar Edhi, passed away at the age of 74.
She born in Karachi in 1947, Bilquis Edhi was a professional nurse, also known as the "Mother of Pakistan".
Abdul Sattar Edhi's widow and well-known social worker Edhi's death was confirmed by his son Faisal Edhi.
She was suffering from a critical illness since past few days and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Karachi.
She was the head of the Bilquis Edhi Foundation, and its charitable organization provides services throughout Pakistan, including the emergency service and a hospital in Karachi.
When her health deteriorated, she was transferred to Vanity Fair, but she could not survive. In creating the Edhi Foundation, the largest welfare organization in Pakistan, Bilquis Edhi fully supported her husband Abdul Sattar Edhi.
According to the Edhi Foundation's website, she and her late husband have so far adopted 16,000 orphaned children.
At the tender age of sixteen, she received her nursing training from Edhi's Nursing School.
He served in the same institution for two years. After his marriage to Abdul Sattar Edhi, he did not look back.
For her services, Hilal Imtiaz was awarded by the Government of Pakistan while Mother Teresa Award was conferred by India in 2015.

Bilquis Edhi's son Faisal Edhi said that his dear mother did not live in the world, his mother was suffering from lung disease and after a short illness she passed away.
It should be noted that after the death of Abdul Sattar Edhi, the late Edhi was the chairperson of the foundation.
