MWC 2022 is now in the books, and it brought with it a slew of new smartphones. The announcements kept coming even after the four-day conference, so here's a rundown of all the new phone hardware that hit the market.
TCL unveiled five new phones as part of its TCL 30 series, beginning the list chronologically. TCL 30 5G is a Density 700 phone with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, a 50MP main camera, and a 5,010 mAh battery with 18W charging.
It costs €250 and will be available in Europe in April. The TCL 30+, which costs €200, has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, a 5,010 mAh battery with 18W charging, and a 50MP main camera but a Helio G37 chipset. The TCL 30 costs €180 and is essentially the same phone as the TCL 30+, but with an 8MP selfie camera and slower 10W charging.
TCL also has the 30 SE, which has a 6.52-inch HD+ LCD display, is powered by the Helio G25 chipset, and has the same 50MP triple camera setup as the other 30-series phones for €150. The TCL 30 E is the manufacturer's fifth and final device. It has the same core specifications as the 30 SE but only 3GB RAM and 64GB storage for €140.
Nokia unveiled three new phones, the most powerful of which is the C21 Plus, which features a 6.5-inch LCD with HD+ resolution, Unisoc SC9863A chipset, and 4,000 mAh battery. The Nokia C21 has the same display and chipset as the Nokia C20, but with a maximum of 3GB RAM and 64GB storage, as well as a smaller 3,000 mAh battery and a single rear 8MP camera. Both phones run Android 11 Go Edition, but no pricing or availability information was provided.

Honor debuted its Magic4 series
Honor introduced its Magic4 series flagships, which feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipsets, curved 6.8-inch OLED displays (LTPO 2.0 on the Pro model), and 50MP main and ultrawide cameras. The Pro gets a fancier 64MP periscope with 3.5 optical and 100x digital zoom, as well as super-fast 100W wired and wireless charging. The vanilla model is limited to an 8MP telephoto lens and 66W wired speeds. The Honor Magic4 starts at €899, while the Honor Magic4 Pro costs €1,099.
Four ZTE Blade V40 phones have been released. The Blade V40 Pro features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, Unisoc T618 chipset, 64MP main camera, and a 5,100 mAh battery with 65W charging. The Blade V40 has a 48MP main camera and slower charging at 22.5W, but the rest of the specs are the same as the Pro.
The Blade V40 5G is powered by a Dimensity 700 chipset, a 6.67-inch LCD, and a massive 6,000 mAh battery with 22.5W charging. Finally, the Blade V40 Vita features a 6.75-inch display with a refresh rate of 90Hz, a Unisoc chipset, and a 6.000 mAh battery with 22.5W charging. |
In other news, vivo has announced the CNY1,299 ($205/€185) Y33s 5G midrange in China, which features a Dimensity 700 chip, a 6.51-inch LCD, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging.
Lenovo unveiled the Legion Y90 gaming phone, which features an RGB glowing logo, a 6.92-inch 144hz AMOLED display, the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, shoulder keys and a pressure-sensitive back zone, and a 5,600 mAh battery with 68W fast charging. It is priced at $4,300 in New York ($680/€610 in Europe).
