Google Pixel Event 2023: A Summary - Google Announced Everything

On October 4, 2023, Google held its annual Made By Google event in New York City, where it unveiled its latest products and innovations.

The event was streamed live on YouTube and featured presentations by Google executives and engineers. The main highlights of the event were the Pixel 8 series, the Pixel Watch 2, the Pixel Buds Pro, and the Android 14 operating system.

Here are some of the key features and specifications of each product:

Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro: These are the new flagship smartphones from Google, powered by the Google Tensor G3 processor, which is designed to run Google’s generative AI models on-device.

The Pixel 8 has a 6.1-inch Actua display with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits and a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

The Pixel 8 Pro has a 6.8-inch Super Actua display with a peak brightness of 2,400 nits and a resolution of 1344 x 2992 pixels. Both phones have a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.

The Pixel 8 series also boasts the most advanced Pixel cameras yet, with a 50 MP main wide camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, and a telephoto camera with up to 8x zoom

The phones also have new camera features such as Magic Editor, which allows users to fill in backgrounds and reposition subjects, and Best Take, which combines multiple shots to create the best group photo.

The Pixel 8 series also supports wireless charging, reverse wireless charging, IP68 water and dust resistance, and seven years of Android software updates. The Pixel 8 starts at $699 and the Pixel 8 Pro starts at $999.

Pixel Watch 2: This is the second generation of Google’s smartwatch, which pairs with the Pixel phones to provide personalized help, safety features, and health insights.

The Pixel Watch 2 has a circular AMOLED display with a rotating crown for navigation. The watch also has improved heart rate monitoring and two new sensors: a body-response sensor and a skin temperature sensor.

These sensors enable the watch to measure stress levels and provide relaxation tips. The watch also has built-in GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Super Wideband, and eSIM support.

 The watch runs on Wear OS by Google, which is compatible with thousands of apps and watch faces. The Pixel Watch 2 starts at $349.

The Pixel Buds Pro also has conversation detection, which automatically lowers the volume when the user is talking to someone else.

The earbuds also have listening stats, which show how long and how loud the user has been listening to audio. The earbuds also support Bluetooth Super Wideband for better sound quality on calls.

The Pixel Buds Pro comes in three colors: black, white, and mint green. They have a battery life of up to seven hours on a single charge and up to 28 hours with the wireless charging case. The Pixel Buds Pro cost $199.

Android 14: This is the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system, which powers the Pixel phones and other devices.

Android 14 introduces new features such as Material You, which adapts the system theme to the user’s wallpaper and preferences; Live Space, which shows relevant information on the home screen based on the user’s context;
